The biggest metropolitan areas in Brazil are the cites of Sao Paulo with 19.5 million people, Rio de Janeiro with 11.5 million people and Belo Horizonte with 5.1 million people and all of this cities are located in the south eastern region of Brazil.

Brazil has the largest national economy in the whole region of Latin America, it is the eighth in the world and the seventh largest in purchasing power. Brazil is considered a mix economy and it has a lot of natural resources that gives the country money. Most people and the country make money through Mining, agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors as well as a large number of people working as laborers. Also the country has expanded it exports and major export products include cars, aircrafts, electrical equipment, ethanol, textiles, steel, coffee and orange juice. So these are the dominant industries of Brazil because they export and bring money to the country. Brazil's political/cultural geography

Brazilian federation is divided into three parts that worked together and whose union is never dissolved. These are: the states, the municipalities and the federal district. The three of the sections mentioned previously combine with the union and rule with three basic principles over the Brazilian people. The principles are: Sovereignty, dignity of human beings, citizenship, political pluralism and social values of labour and freedom of enterprise. The strongest Brazilian political parties are: the Workers Party (PT), Brazilian social democracy party (PSDB), Brazilian democratic movement party (PMDB) and the Democrats (DEM). The current president is a women candidate elected from the Workers party, her name is Dilma Rousseff. People are free to vote and it is a very well organized society which gives the people the necessary rights to have liberty and the president rules the country.

Brazil was invaded by the Portuguese in the colonial era; this means that the natives were greatly influenced by the Portuguese. The Portuguese brought with them different things like life style, technology but most importantly culturally speaking they brought religion and culture which the native Brazilian people assimilated and is now a part of them. First of all the Portuguese taught the natives to speak Portuguese so the current official language of Brazil is Portuguese. Then the Portuguese taught them religion and that is how Brazil acquired Catholicism as the predominant faith. The first Christian mass in brazil took place in around 1500 A.C. this marked the beginning of this religion in Brazil. Now a days Roman Catholicism is the countries predominant faith and another interesting fact is that brazil has the biggest Catholic population in the world. 73% of the population in Brazil are catholics.
