Brazil's Urban/Economic Geography

Brazil is a very large land mass with a lot of virgin forests and natural landscape not yet exploited by human beings. Yet one could say that brazil is very highly urbanized because it has large populations and big cities in which most of the population is located in the southern part of brazil. The biggest metropolitan areas in Brazil are the cites of Sao Paulo with 19.5 million people, Rio de Janeiro with 11.5 million people and Belo Horizonte with 5.1 million people and all of this cities are located in the south eastern region of Brazil.

Brazil has the largest national economy in the whole region of Latin America, it is the eighth in the world and the seventh largest in purchasing power. Brazil is considered a mix economy and it has a lot of natural resources that gives the country money. Most people and the country make money through Mining, agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors as well as a large number of people working as laborers. Also the country has expanded it exports and major export products include cars, aircrafts, electrical equipment, ethanol, textiles, steel, coffee and orange juice. So these are the dominant industries of Brazil because they export and bring money to the country. The minimum wage in Brazil is $545 per month which means that a median income level for the whole population would probably be a little higher at about $1000 a per month
